With the arrival of Matthew into our small family, I've had to move my hobby room to make room for his stuff. So I appropriated the bomb shelter built into my home and decided to convert it into my own 'man' room (credit to Fichtenfoo for the name). Anyways, a trip to IKEA and Carrefour basically got me all ready...

A good friend of mine (Maxwinamp) from Plamo and I decided to do a groupbuild of VF-1 Valkyries. Max's Plamo has also generously offered to host the groupbuild's forum to ease communication. This should be a cool one.

If I had it my way, I'll enter 3 or more kits! I hope I don't end up eating my words though...

This LEGO model is just too cool for words. It's created by Daniel Hamman and he calls it the Container Shuttle Craft CSC.

It's huge if you realize that a LEGO figure is less than 4cm tall. It looks really good and that it might work in the real world. And the small details Daniel gives the CSC is just mind boggling.

Just look at the Gallery for the CSC.

I don't plan to heavily modify my kit. The priority is to quickly get it done and join the competition. But I still think I need to do some simple mods to make it pose better, less stiff. First I want to make the torso bend forward a bit more so I scratched together a simple additional part for the waist. Voila!

To ease the upcoming painting process, I modded the head a bit. Basically I chopped off the face right at the eye level. I also modded how the leg verniers fit into the back of the calf. Just a simple matter of cutting off the vernier's male part and inserting some plastic card into the calf itself to hold the vernier in place.

Now the biggest problem for this particular kit are the shoulders. They are hollow and detail free. So I thought a simple covering of the shoulder will fix it. No luck at all. I also tried to figure out a way to be able to paint the shoulders separately from the arms, so far no luck yet. I tried first by cutting out portions of the shoulder's female joint. It still didn't fit. Then I decided to cut off portions of the male part on the arm. Well now it fits, just not in any way securely. I'll still need to cover up the vast gaps inside the shoulders too. Man... I wish there was an MG kit for the Destiny. Grr...

The Project WOOB results are out and I got a silver for my GM Command! Super cool! This is actually the first time I've ever won anything for my modeling efforts.

But anyhow, on to better and grander things I always say! GAMBATTE!

I've been browsing around other folks' websites and the design of the Zaku Warrior has grown on me. It helps that with the 'Wizard Pack' system, the Zaku Warrior becomes very versatile, so it can achieve various looks. It also helps that I've seen some folks do wonders with it...
