| Just made a quick trip up to Singapore to settle some immigration issues and couldn't resist not getting these...

Being a self-professed GM slut, I just gotta have the HGUC Powered GM kit. This kit brings my 1/144 GM collection up to date. Soon to be released are the GM Striker and the GM Quel. Can't wait!
I'm also collecting the AoZ line of kits in 1/144 scale, which is why I got the Gundam Hazel II. The backpack doesn't make a whole of sense to me, but what the heck, it looks cool enough.
Now the MG Dom is actually my second Dom kit. The first one I did is still in the hellhole that is my Projects section. That one has mods. This one won't, since I'm entering it into Plamo's Project WOOB 2, the core requirement being the kit has to built out-of-the-box. Not that I can mod much since I plan to build this kit in Indonesia and color it using spray cans... brrrr... I just hope it turns out half decent. |
It's been bugging me no end that I can't get my usual plamo fix here while in Jakarta. Even if I had the space for a model desk, I don't have one for a spray booth... GAH!
While I was gone, the Singapore BAKUC (Bandai Action Kit Universal Cup) 2006 came and went. Seems like there was a new location for the competition display and well, lighting was bad and the display cases themselves left a lot to be desired. Still, from the pics I've seen, this year had some really really good entries. Especially the winner (on the right), which I thought was more than deserving of getting the top prize.
More pics can be found on Plamo members Maxwinamp and mybearbrick's respective sites. Tons of photos to suck up bandwidth...
All this makes my damn fingers all the more itchy to start making models again. Hmmm... Plamo's Project WOOB 2... |
Man... this is exactly why I get inspired to do Gunpla. This is Roopy's customized RGM-79SP GM Sniper II. From the pictures, this looks to be based on the RGM-79D Cold Climate GM with the Sniper Rifle from the RGM-79[G] kit.
What I really like about this kit is how much detail Roopy put into this masterpiece. I particularly like how he solved the problem of the kit not being able to kneel properly by adding a folding mechanism on the right knee which becomes a platform for the GM to do its sniping. Very nice.
He also gave the GM a customized sniping visor and a backpack as a power source for the sniper rifle. He then moved the beam sabers to the hips and additional detailing on the torso.
Man... I could go on and on about how cool this work is but I'll let the pictures do all the talking. |
A bit of bad news. Well... only when it comes to the website I guess. I'm starting a new career in Jakarta so things are up in the air right now with regards to my future in Singapore. What's in the immediate future is that for now, I'll be based in Jakarta. Which means I can't continue with my modeling projects. Which means I'm not sure what will happen to the groupbuilds. Which means updates for this site will also slow to a trickle.
Hobby always comes behind career. Career means I can put food to the table for the family (and support the hobby of course hehe) so it wasn't that hard a decision to make. While in Jakarta though, I do have another hobby, and that is airsoft. Which means the other website I maintain, www.crossfire-ag.com, will see a lot of updates.
I'm sure at some point I'll update this site again, just that it'll be few and far between. Is 'quality over quantity' a comfort? Hehehe

| This site has been tested on Firefox 2.0 and Internet Explorer 7.0. It's compatible on both Windows and Mac OS-X platforms. This is an image intensive site so it's gonna be really slow for narrowband
users. Just in case you're wondering, this site is coded from scratch.
Old skool baby! |
