So begins the mods... starting
with the skirts. I added 2mm plastic plates to extend them.
This will give the Rick Dias a more balanced look since the
rear skirts are pretty long.

I decided to add some details to the kit to bulk up
the Rick Dias somewhat. A simple attaching of 2 thrusters
to a plastic card and inserting to the leg skirts.

I might not be able to paint
my kits (since I'm still setting up my new hobby room), but
I can still start projects. At least, assembling and modding-wise.
So here's my latest project, the RMS-99 Rick Dias from Zeta
Gundam. Assembly is pretty straightforward and it builds up
into a pretty nice representation of the Mobile Suit.

I saw this pose on the left from a pic taken from a
hobby show and I liked it. Unfortunately, the best the
kit could do was what's on the right. The one on the
left is obviously not the HGUC kit. It looks like I'll
need to do quite a bit of modifications. Shouldn't be
too much problems.

 I
managed to catch the 1st part of 3 compilation movies for the
Zeta Gundam TV series. I was quite impressed although squeezing
basically 18 episodes into a 2 hour movie obviously presented
some problems.

 Ohohoho...
the colored pictures are finally out and it looks REALLY sweet.
Voltes V has been a very early influence on me when I was growing
up. In fact, it's been an influence for any Indonesian kid
grewing up at that time!
And now Bandai is releasing a modernized version. In
FULL metal glory. It's super poseable and comes with
ALL its weapons (including the really ghey-looking twin
belt whips). Problem is it's gonna cost about SGD
200... sigh...

 Oh
man... this upcoming B-Club conversion kit takes the cake in
design. I can't even really describe what it looks like. Just
look at it there on the right. Out of all the other designs,
they pick this one for release?!
The original looks
like this. Not much better to be honest. Sometimes
I do wonder how Bandai picks their releases. It's so
scattershot. So random.
The only good news for this release, if you can call
it that at all, is that it's from B-Club. Which means
it's resin. Which means it's super expensive. Which means
it's super limited too. Not so lucky if you're one of
those who actually likes the design of the Zaku Warrior.
Which means you gotta have this one to complete your
collection.

The Cannon Fort is a re-release
of the 1980s original. The main difference between the two
versions is the color and the markings: The new Cannon Fort
is dark green and black while the old one has the green parts
in a medium blue. The old kit also comes with 2 gold coated
mind-riders instead of just 1 dark grey one for this release.

It's the New
Year again! And with the coming of the new year come
the resolutions. The things we try to live up to and utter
fail for most of the time. But we'll keep on trying... uh
huh. So here are my toy-related resolutions:
1. Finish (decently) 12 kits this
year. 1 a month.
2. Stop impulse buys totally.
3. Save enough money for the upcoming Chogokin Voltes V.
4. Join at least 1 model kit competition this year.
Man... I just hope I can at least fulfill ONE resolution...

| This site has been tested on Firefox 2.0 and Internet Explorer 7.0. It's compatible on both Windows and Mac OS-X platforms. This is an image intensive site so it's gonna be really slow for narrowband
users. Just in case you're wondering, this site is coded from scratch.
