With the arrival of Matthew into our small family, I've had to move my hobby room to make room for his stuff. So I appropriated the bomb shelter built into my home and decided to convert it into my own 'man' room (credit to Fichtenfoo for the name). Anyways, a trip to IKEA and Carrefour basically got me all ready.

1. I bought two 'Billy' bookcases and added two glass doors on one of them for my display case. I also bought a couple of glass shelves for further expansion. As you can see, there's still a lot of room for my toys hehe. The row of Hobby Japans at the bottom serve as a weight to basically nail the bookcase down. Otherwise, it tips over.
2. The other bookcase is used for... well, books. All my reading junk are squeezed here, including my collection of Dengeki Hobby Magazines which double as weight for the bookcase.
3. All my spares and long-untouched WIPs are here. I can never force myself to throw away excess parts from my finished kits... I keep thinking I'll find a use for them someday. We'll see...

4. This is a giant piece of cardboard to basically protect the white wall from stray paint. Unfortunately, it kinda darkens the room but that can't be helped.
5. I got this shelf for 10 bucks at a department store. It's actually marketed as a stand for use in the bathroom but I found a better way of using it. Since it's vertical, it also saves space on my small worktable.
6. The room is pretty small and can get quite stuffy so I 'armed' the room with a fan of its own. It will also serve as a method to circulate the air. It's one of those fans with a clamp so you can attach it to the side of a table. Sweet.
7. My trusty airbrush, which at the moment, is NOT in its perfect place. I'll need to try out this configuration for awhile and tweak it as I go. The bottle is basically a spray bottle where I can dispose of unused paint.
8. This is my stash of current WIPs. I used to think I can stick to one project at a time. No such luck. I'm too damn fickle.
9. My compressor. The 'hole' in the table is just nice for it. I'm not sure, but I may have to line the insides with paper towels as my moisture trap has a tendency to dispense the water it accumulates.
This is not the perfect setup. For one thing, there isn't a spray booth. The only reason why that is mildly acceptable is that I'm exclusively using acrylic paints for my paintjobs. The only lacquer-based paint I use is primer, which I spray outside of my home. Those things are really nasty. Not to say acrylics are completely safe, but I think I struck a pretty good compromise.
I also expect the configuration to change as I start using the worktable. And of course, it'll get a whole lot messier... Hahaha
